GENERAL MERI CHERRY POLICIES

BY ENROLLING INTO A CLASS, CAMP OR EVENT WITH MERI CHERRY, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

KINDNESS & RESPECT

Our goal is to foster a positive learning environment filled with creativity and camaraderie for both our students and parents. You and your child agree to treat all participants of Meri Cherry’s art programs with kindness and respect.

SOMETIMES WE GET MESSY

We love to have fun and get messy! You will make sure your child is properly dressed for Meri Cherry – this means wearing shoes and either a smock or clothing that is ok to get dirty.

WE RESPECT OUR MATERIALS

As a process-based art studio, we use a wide range of materials in our art projects including, but not limited to: paint, glue, pastel, chalk, fiber, wax, glue guns, hammers, and other sharp objects. While we do our best to monitor every child’s use of these materials, accidents may occur from time to time due to the inherent risk in using these materialsYou understand that these materials are not meant for consumption and will instruct your child not to consume any materials and to always conduct themselves in a safe manner.

SAFETY FIRST

The safety of your child and other children is our top priority. You acknowledge that your child has no physical, emotional, or social conditions that make it dangerous or unwise for your child to safely participate in our art programs. Running in the art studio is dangerous for both your child and others around them so your child agrees not to run when participating in Meri Cherry’s art programs.

PERMISSION TO SHARE

We love promoting process-based art and sharing it with others. We may take photographs, video and/or audio (the “Media”) during our art classes to post on our social media. We are the sole owner of any Media and may use the Media in any way, in our sole discretion. You grant us permission to use your child’s image without any restriction and waive your right to inspect or approve the Media.

PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE

You give your permission for your child to participate in Meri Cherry Art Studio's programs. You release and hold Meri Cherry Art Studio harmless from any and all liability that may arise in connection with the studio's art programs.

STAY UPDATED

By providing my email address, I agree to be added onto Meri Cherry’s newsletter list.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of California.

I have thoroughly read, fully understand and agree to be bound by the terms of these Terms & Conditions. These Terms & Conditions will govern my child’s current and future participation in Meri Cherry’s art programs.

STUDIO CAMP POLICIES

BY ENROLLING YOUR CHILD IN CAMP WITH MERI CHERRY, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

COVID-19 POLICIES

MASKS

  • With ever-changing safety standards regarding COVID-19, we will be implementing the most up to date safety protocols, and will update those enrolled as changes occur. Masking will be optional according to Summer 2024 guidelines. All counselors are fully vaccinated.
  • If your child is sick, please do not send them to class. Similarly, if a child shows up for class with symptoms of illness (e.g. runny nose or cough), or says they are or were not feeling well recently, your teacher will ask the Host to contact the child's adult to pick them up.

26 campers, and 3 counselors

DROP-OFF & PICKUP

Check-in, drop-off and pickup will be by the front door.


GENERAL CAMP POLICIES

CAMP ENROLLMENT IS NONTRANSFERABLE

Camp spots may not be given or transferred to another child, including siblings

NO EARLY DROP-OFF OR LATE PICKUP

Camp hours are 10am-2pm. We do not offer before or aftercare. Any late pickups after 2pm are subject to late fees.

CAMPERS MUST BE 4+ YEARS OLD

Campers must have turned 4 by June 1st. No exceptions.

MERI CHERRY ART STUDIO IS NUT FREE

When packing your child's snack and lunch, please NO peanuts, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts (Nutella), cashews, pistachios, brazil nuts or nuts of any kind. This includes nut butters and nut milks.


CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Full payment is due at the time of enrollment, which includes a nonrefundable deposit for your camp. Nonrefundable deposits for 1-day camps are $50 and 4-day camps are $100.
  • All cancellations made more than 30 days prior to camp start date are eligible to receive a full refund, minus the deposit.
  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the camp's start date are nonrefundable.

MOBILE CAMP POLICIES

BY PARTICIPATING IN MOBILE CAMP WITH MERI CHERRY, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • If your child is sick, please do not send them to class. Similarly, if a child shows up for class with symptoms of illness (e.g. runny nose or cough), or says they are or were not feeling well recently, your teacher will ask the Host to contact the child's adult to pick them up.

CAPACITY

6-8 campers, and 2 counselors. All counselors will be fully vaccinated.

DROP-OFF & PICKUP

Check-in, drop-off and pickup will be at the address of the host's home.

Campers must have turned 4 by June 1st, 2023. No exceptions.


CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the camp start date may receive a refund minus the $250 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made within 14 days of the camp start date are NONREFUNDABLE.

MOBILE CLASS POLICIES

BY PARTICIPATING IN MOBILE CLASS WITH MERI CHERRY, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

6-8 campers, and 1 Teacher. All counselors will be fully vaccinated.

  • The host is responsible for facilitating arrivals and departures. Your teacher is not responsible for kids who arrive early or depart late.


GENERAL CLASS POLICIES

CLASS ENROLLMENT

  • All Mobile Classes require full payment and enrollment prior to a new session
  • Enrollment is nontransferable -- Class spots may not be given or transferred to another child, including siblings
  • There will be no makeups, credit, refunds, or prorated pricing for missed classes
  • No drop-ins. Your class roster must remain the same for your whole session.

DROP-OFF ONLY

No parents or adults other than Meri Cherry teacher in class area to promote independence*. Students only.

*If there is an extenuating circumstance where another adult is needed, please let us know so we can accommodate

STUDENTS MUST BE 3+ YEARS OLD

  • Students must be 3+ unless Mobile class is for Mini Makers which ranges from walking - 3 year olds.
  • Class age range must not exceed 1.5 years from youngest to oldest.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • All skipped classes must be scheduled before the start of the session and approved by Mobile class coordinator.
  • All Mobile Class deposits include $150 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the class start date may receive a refund minus the $150 non-refundable deposit. 

    *Cancellations made within 14 days of the class start date are NONREFUNDABLE.

Makeup Classes may be offered in the following circumstances:

  • For cancellations made at the discretion of Meri Cherry Art Studio (e.g. teacher illness, poor weather conditions, etc)
  • For ONE "last minute" cancellation per 10 week session

    *Makeup Classes are not issued for any subsequent last minute cancellations occurring in the same 10 week session

    **Makeup Classes are not issued for any cancellations made within 2 hours of class

EXPERIENCE CLASS WITH YOUR CHILD

Though we encourage toddlers to explore and investigate during Toddler Art Playgroup, please stay with your child during class to support them in their experience.

WE ENCOURAGE INDEPENDENCE

We love our artists to feel confident creating independently, so all art classes in the studio are drop off. We will have a space for you to hang out during class in the front of the studio, or feel free to grab a coffee or check out the Meri Cherry Shop on the corner until Art Show.

ART SHOW

Please return 5 minutes before the end of class for Art Show.


ONE TIME DROP-INS

If there is open availability in our classes we permit a one time paid drop-in per child to try out the class. Drop-ins are invited to sign up to the remainder of the pro-rated session after class if they would like to on a first-come first-serve basis. If classes are full we will not be able to offer drop-ins for the session.


CANCELLATION POLICY

Full session payment is due at the time of enrollment. Because of the limited capacity and high demand of Meri Cherry Art Classes, we do not offer makeups or refunds for missed classes, even if you know you will miss ahead of time. If you have an extenuating circumstance, we will handle each cancellation on a case by case basis.

All Studio Classes include a $100 non-refundable deposit. All cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the class start date may receive a refund minus the $100 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made within 14 days of the studio class start date are NONREFUNDABLE.

PARTY POLICIES

BY BOOKING A PARTY WITH MERI CHERRY, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

GENERAL

MERI CHERRY EXPECTATIONS

For every party to be as special and successful as possible, we need everyone on the same page. Please read our GENERAL POLICIES as a guide for you and your guests.

FINAL PAYMENT

Final payment is due two weeks prior to party. We will use your card information on file (provided on your Party Contract & Credit Card Authorization Form) for final payment. You must complete your Contract & Credit Card Authorization Form before two weeks prior to your event.

ARRIVAL TIME

Host family may arrive 20 minutes prior to party start time. Host will be charged $250 per 15 minutes of unauthorized early arrival time.

DEPARTURE TIME

All guests are expected to depart when your party time ends. Host family is allotted 15-20 minutes to gather belongings and head out. Host will be charged $250 per 15 minutes of unauthorized late departure time.

ADDITIONAL DECOR

If you choose to bring any decor, please keep in mind: all items must be pre-assembled (ie: banners pre-strung, centerpieces assembled, florals made etc). We do not allow piñatas, balloon air walkers, confetti or wall decor. Balloon garlands are not allowed unless you have purchased a package with our design vendor, A Pop Of Party.

  • If you want to add an extra "pop" to your celebration, our exclusive partnership with A Pop of Party can make your party design dreams come to life!

  • A Pop of Party's package includes balloons, themed tablescapes and other decor accents. Submit an inquiry form to A Pop of Party to learn more and get started!

No outside vendors or entertainment are permitted, with the exception of photography and our design team, A Pop of Party.

OUTSIDE FOOD

You are welcome to bring any any additional food you'd like! All outside food must follow the guidelines below:

✅Ready to set out and serve (we do not provide bowls, trays, serving utensils or any specialty paper goods or beverages)

🚫 No hot food (no burners, hot plates or warmers. Best options are sandwiches, crudites, fruit platters, cheese boards etc)

🚫 Alcohol and hot beverages are strictly prohibited

🚫 No outside vendors/caterers are permitted

🚫 No ice cream cakes or surprise cakes filled with candy or sprinkles.

GRATUITY

Our Party Pros are fantastic, and work so hard to make your party a success! A $150* flat gratuity ($180 for Mobile Parties) is added to all Studio parties for our Party Pros.

*If three Party Pros are needed for your event, an additional $75 will be added to your flat gratuity rate for the additional service

NO PETS

DROP OFF

If you want kids to be dropped off at the party rather than their grown-ups staying with them, kids must be 7+ years old

INVITATION INFO

  • Please let your guests know the start AND end time of your party on your invitation.

Meri Cherry Art is located in Encino on Ventura Blvd: 17060 Ventura Blvd, Encino CA, 91316. Please reference the map above, and include the image on your invites for your guests.

MAXIMUM CAPACITY

Please refer to the party package you booked for your event maximum or contact your party coordinator if you aren't sure. Maximum capacity of this space is 20 kids and 24 adults.

*In extenuating circumstances, the Studio may accommodate 25 kids. Adding these extra 5 to the maximum capacity will incur an additional fee:

  • $50/child if we are notified more than 2 weeks prior to your event
  • $100/child if we are notified less than 2 weeks prior to your event

  • Welcome your guests! We'll get everyone signed in, gather any gifts, and get kids started on Birthday Cards while we wait for friends to arrive

CRAFT TIME

MAIN CRAFT TABLE

  • Party Pros guide kids to the main craft table where the magic happens! Kids gather around and dive into their signature Meri Cherry art project

FOOD & CAKE TIME

DINING TABLES

  • The staff will gather everyone to serve food (if pizza is included in your package)
  • Sing Happy Birthday, and any party desserts you may have provided!

GOODBYE TIME

PARTY STATION

  • We'll hand out goodie bags (if included in your Party Package) containing premium party favors and art projects as we say our farewells

CANCELLATION POLICY

Your remaining party balance is due two weeks prior, which includes a $150 nonrefundable deposit that you placed upon booking. After your remaining party balance has been charged (two weeks prior) the entire amount becomes nonrefundable.
